Congratulations to Wayne Salmons - Transportation Personnel of the Year
Wayne Salmons has been a dedicated and valued member of the Lincoln County Transportation Team since 2003, serving as a full-time school bus operator. In addition to his role as a bus operator, Wayne has also taken on the responsibilities of our Transportation Parts Clerk for the past year, and he excels in both capacities. Wayne’s commitment to his work is evident in every aspect of his job. He approaches each day with professionalism, pride, and care. As a school bus operator, he goes above and beyond, treating every child on his bus as if they were his own. Wayne’s deep sense of responsibility and concern for the safety and well-being of the students in his care is truly exceptional. Furthermore, he is a valuable member of our transportation safety team, which visits local schools to educate students on the importance of school bus safety. What sets Wayne apart is his dedication to his community. He is well-known throughout Lincoln County, not just for his work as a bus driver, but for his active involvement in various community initiatives. Through his Saved By Grace BBQ business, Wayne generously provides meals to local ball teams before games and even contributes to the LCHS football program by running a 50/50 concession sales operation. His contributions extend beyond athletics, as he regularly donates to local organizations, helping to strengthen and support our community. In addition to his community service, Wayne volunteers his time each year to take church teens to Tennessee for Winterfest, a trip that enriches the lives of the youth in our area. His willingness to lend a hand wherever needed is truly remarkable, and his positive impact on those around him is immeasurable.
It is with great pride that we recognize Wayne as a vital member of our Lincoln County Transportation Team. His dedication, generosity, and strong work ethic make him an outstanding candidate for Service Employee of the Year.
